Rundown of Vikings’ picks in latest 4-round mock draft

After the first wave of free agency, we have a better idea of team needs heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.

Our guy Luke Easterling over at Draft Wire put together a four-round mock with trades.

Here’s a rundown of the Vikings picks:

First round (18 overall): T, Cody Ford, Oklahoma
Second round (50 overall): S, Taylor Rapp, Washington
Third round (81 overall): DL, Gerald Willis III, Miami
Fourth round (120 overall): RB, Justice Hill, Oklahoma State

These picks all make sense position wise. The Vikings need immense help on the offensive line, and Ford would be a start to that. Rapp would give the Vikings depth at safety after moving on from Andrew Sendejo. Same for Willis after the team lost Sheldon Richardson to the Browns.

The most interesting pick here is Hill. The Vikings lost Latavius Murray to the Saints in free agency. While they are bringing back Ameer Abdullah, he’s done nothing to suggest he can be the main backup for Dalvin Cook. With that being said, a fourth-round pick for a running back seems a little high when you consider other needs for the team like offensive line and tight end.
