'Runaway' car flips onto roof after 'plunging down embankment' in Scots village

Emergency services have been called after a 'runaway' car flipped over and landed on its roof on a pedestrian footpath in Fife.

Police and paramedics were pictured at the scene in Inverkeithing shortly before 8.30am on Thursday, May 4.

Local reports claim the silver vehicle rolled out of a garage on the road above before plunging down the steep embankment.

It is not currently known whether anyone was injured during the freak accident.

Recovery of the stricken motor is being arranged (Fife Jammer Locations)

Police Scotland have confirmed they were called to the scene near Chapel Place.

A force spokesperson said: “Around 8.25am on Thursday, 4 May, 2023, officers were called to a report of a one vehicle crash on Chapel Place, Inverkeithing.

“Arrangements were made for the vehicle to be recovered.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
