The team behind the 2014 Helpmann award–winning production of Pinocchio take on the Brothers Grimm story of Rumpelstiltskin. In this co-production between Windmill Theatre and the state theatre company, the fairytale is given a new musical spin.

Performer Paul Capsis stars as the shape-shifting imp, whose thirst for vengeance may bring him undone. Spinning straw into gold is a trick that will take you far – it can buy a big house of beautiful things and a life of luxury. But money can’t buy happiness, and the story tells of two people, once best friends, who are torn apart by the desire for things they cannot have.
