Rumoured transfer target Luke Freeman impressed with Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds United project

As the dust settles on the 2018/19 season, players have started to look back on the season that was and share their thoughts about it.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder and reported Leeds United target Luke Freeman was asked by football website worldfootballindex.com if he could say which the best team he had played against in the Championship this season.

He answered: "It has been a bit of a funny season in all honesty. You can play some really good teams on their day, but I would definitely say it has been Leeds United and Norwich City.

"We played Norwich first, just before they went on their good run, and they eventually got to where they are now.

"When we played them they were not particularly at their best. They were good but they were not amazing."

'They were excellent'

Reflecting on Leeds United's 2-1 victory against QPR at home in December, Freeman said: "I think back to playing Leeds United at Elland Road in the middle of the season, and they were excellent.

"Three months ago we played them at Loftus Road and we ended up beating them 1-0, of course they are still a good team. I would definitely say that Leeds and Sheffield United on their day have been difficult to play against."

It was a disappointing season for QPR who ended up 19th in the Championship, resulting in manager Steve McLaren getting sacked in April after a run of just one win in 15 games - the one win coming against Leeds United at Loftus Road in February.

Freeman made 43 appearances in the league last season, scoring eight goals and getting six assists.
