Rumoured Liverpool target Samuel Chukwueze makes transfer admission - and the role former Everton star could play

Samuel Chukwueze had admitted he's spoken to some of his team-mates at Villarreal about playing in England as the winger continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.

The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season in La Liga, scoring eight goals playing alongside the likes of former Arsenal star Santi Cazorla and ex- Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori.

With his form earning him an international debut for Nigeria, as well as the reported attention of Liverpool , the winger has also been included in the Super Eagles' squad for this summer's Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

And ahead of the tournament, he's admitted the possibility of a move to England is on his mind.

"Playing with Santi Carzola is very good for me. Carzola is a very good person," Chukwueze told Tribalfootball . "He gives me advice every time and encourages me on the pitch.

"He tells me 'Samu, you need to keep working hard, you are very talented and you can do more'.

"He tells me so many things about my game and he gives me so much courage that any time I am holding the ball, I should keep on moving, I should not fear. He is a very good person and I really appreciate him a lot."

He continued: "Cazorla and Funes have been good to me. They told me so many things about England Premiership.

"They speak English so it is easy for them to communicate with me and they gave me a lot of information about football in England, that the game in England is very exciting.

"They also told me about the cold. Iborra said the same things about football in England Premiership too."

However, despite the admission, the winger was unwilling to comment on transfer speculation linking him with a move away.

"For now, I am still a player of Villarreal," he told All Nigeria Soccer . "I have a contract with them. Anything you are hearing about new club, I don't want to discuss it.''
