Only two months after they were rumoured to be in cahoots, insiders are now claiming that Carrie Bickmore‘s reported relationship with The Bachelorette star, Lee Elliott, is on the rocks.
ICYMI, back in July, Melbourne’s rumour mill was in overdrive after an insider told Woman’s Day that feelings between the pair are “heating up quickly”.
But in a devastating twist for the rumoured power couple, Bickmore and Elliott’s romance was “always on borrowed time”.
“I think everyone caught wind of this at its early stages, which was around the time his friends and family stepped in,” an insider told New Idea before adding that people close to Elliott warned him “from the beginning” about jumping into another relationship following his February 2025 split with The Bachelorette‘s Georgia Love.
For those who need a quick refresher, The Bachelorette fanbase was shook to its core after Love and Elliott called it quits after nine years. Bickmore split with her partner of 11 years, Chris Walker, back in January 2023.
Another source, who claims to be a friend of Elliott, claimed their connection wasn’t as serious, adding that he hadn’t met Bickmore’s children.
“How much did they really have in common?”, the insider told the publication.
“It was fun, but they’ve realised they have very different priorities. Elliott knows there’s an expiry date on playing the Bachelor, but for now, he’s not tied down, and Carrie seems just fine with that too.”
Back in July, when whispers of a romance first began to surface, an insider told Woman’s Day that Bickmore and Elliott have been “trying so hard to keep things under wraps”.
Another insider who claimed to be close to Elliott’s Bachelorette ex claimed that the relationship rumours “have brought up some complicated emotions” for Love.
“It stings,” the source said.
“Seeing Lee move on so publicly and with someone as beloved as Carrie has brought up some complicated emotions.”
At the time of writing, neither party had confirmed the romance rumours, but hey. It’s only been like two months since the claims first surfaced, and if there’s anything I know about love, it’s similar to karma….
It always finds its way back.
