Rumor: New PlayStation 5 Bundles Coming This Month, But Will It Still Be Worth It?

The end of May is fast approaching, especially with a lot to look forward to this June, but before that happens, Sony may have a surprise for PlayStation fans. It has been rumored that the company is planning to release two new PlayStation 5 console bundles.

These console bundles would put two versions of the PlayStation 5 up for sale alongside a game, and it would reportedly be part of an upcoming promotion from the company.

However, the game in question is already several months old, and it has been available to gamers before.

New PS5 Console Bundle Rumors Coming This Month

According to a new report by Billbil-kun from Dealabs, Sony is rumored to be preparing to launch two bundles featuring the PlayStation 5 console and a game, and they are set to drop by May 28. The game in question is Activision Blizzard and Treyarch Games' "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6."

First, there is the PlayStation 5 Slim which would be bundled with the latest "Call of Duty" game and would be available for $399.99. The game copy here would be a digital download code.

On the other hand, the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition would also be part of the promotion and bundled with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6," featuring the same digital download code and a $449.99 price tag.

Previous "COD" games were made available as part of a console bundle for the PlayStation 5, including the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II" from 2022 and the "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III" from 2023.

Despite this, in-game bonuses and other additional content would not be part of the bundle, with its potential customers only getting the console, a DualSense controller, and a base version of the game.

Is This New PS5 Console Bundle Worth It?

Sony would not be offering the PlayStation 5 Pro as a bundle with "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6," according to the rumor. That being said, it would be part of the upcoming launch of the Japanese gaming company's "Days of Play 2025" promotion, and it is best known for leveraging the summer sale event featuring massive discounts for various PS4 and PS5 titles.

As mentioned earlier, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" is no longer new as it was released last year and many have already obtained copies of the game, especially on PlayStation 5 consoles. On the other hand, PS5's Slim versions are also two years old already, so some already own it.

That being said, it would be a great opportunity for those who do not yet have a console and "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" at their disposal, making this a good bundle should it turn out to be true.
