Rumor mill has Steelers HC Mike Tomlin an option for the Redskins

After a miserable start to their season, the front office of the Washington Redskins decided to fire head coach Jay Gruden. According to ESPN reporter Ed Werder, when owner Dan Snyder makes his list of candidates to fill the vacancy, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is going to be on it.

Tomlin has been incredibly consistent during his time as Steelers head coach. This is his 13th season and he has one Super Bowl title on his resume. But Tomlin is on the verge of his first losing season as head coach and the second consecutive year without making the playoffs.

I am sure there are plenty of Steelers fans out there just begging the Redskins to make a deal and get Tomlin out of town. Odds Shark is giving 14/1 odds if you want to wager Tomlin will be the Washington head coach to start the season.

If Washington wanted Tomlin now, they’d likely have to give up a draft pick — probably their 2020 first-rounder — to get him during the season. My question to all of you is, would you be ok if the front office made this move now?
