Rules for visiting McDonald's as it reopens its restaurants next week

McDonald’s restaurants across the country are due to reopen their doors next week with new rules in place for customers.

The chain made a huge change to its operations earlier this year when England entered its third national lockdown, meaning customers could not enter restaurants to order or collect food.

From Monday, February 22, people will be allowed to visit McDonald’s restaurants for walk-in takeaways - though several enhanced procedures will be in place.

In an email to customers, McDonald’s CEO Paul Pomroy confirmed what new rules would be in place.

From next week, all customer-facing staff inside McDonald’s restaurants will have to wear face visors along with face masks.

There will also be restrictions on the number of customers allowed inside each venue at any one time, and enhanced procedures for the flow of customers will be in place.

Face coverings continue to be mandatory at McDonald’s and sanitising stations will be available for visitors too.
