National lockdown comes to an end tomorrow after four weeks of restrictions, with England set to move into a new, tougher tiered system.
Liverpool City Region has been placed into Tier 2 , high alert, which will see non-essential stores, restaurants, salons and more open their doors again in time for Christmas .
From tomorrow, December 2, Tier 2 restriction will come into effect - you can find the full details here .
Among the rules changing are who you can meet outdoors, so the question on many peoples’ minds is can you meet your friends for an outdoor drink?
Despite the cold weather creeping in, many will be more concerned with finally getting to see loved ones outside their household and social bubbles.
We’ve taken a look at all the guidelines for Tier 2 areas and here’s what it says about meeting up with friends and family.
According to the latest guidance, you can see friends and family you do not live with or have a support bubble with outdoors, providing this is in groups of six or less.
‘Outdoors’ refers to private gardens and any other outdoor space, which means beer and gin gardens are allowed.
You can continue to meet in a group larger than 6 if you are all from the same household or support bubble or another legal exemption applies.
There are some other rules you will need to stick to at beer gardens, particularly regarding alcohol.
If you’re planning on drinking, it will have to be accompanied by a ‘substantial meal’, and stick to the table service rules.
It’s also important to note that last orders are now 10pm, as venues must close at 11pm.
