Ruggable’s New ‘Wicked’ Collection Captures the Fantastical Nature of the Land of Oz Underfoot – and Can Make Each Room in Your Home Feel a Bit More Magical

A living room with a green couch, an abstract pink rug, a wood coffee table.

Have you ever wanted to live inside the world of your favorite film? I know I have – especially a world as exceptionally vivid and grand as the Land of Oz in Wicked. Although that might not be entirely possible, Ruggable's latest Wicked collection comes close to making that dream a reality, right in your own home.

Ahead of Wicked's sequel, Wicked: For Good, which releases on November 21st, Ruggable has developed a collection of rugs that adapt the whimsical nature and fantastical design of the movie's characters and environment for your home. 'Our new Wicked: For Good Collection channels the world of Wicked through color, texture, and storytelling,' Claudia Kampmann, Europe Brand Manager at Ruggable tells me. 'Each design draws from the film’s iconic contrasts, light and dark, whimsy and mystery in rich emeralds, soft blushes, and gold accents.'

Whether your interior design style is more dark and moody like Elphaba's character, or you prefer light, airy, and whimsical styles that match Glinda's bubbly disposition, this collection is bound to have a rug style that can match your personality and benefit the aesthetic of your home.

Some of the rugs from this collection display the Wicked aesthetic in an obvious manner, like the Emerald City doormat or the Yellow Brick Road runner rug. If you're a diehard fan of the movie, the play, or even the book, you'll definitely want to include these styles in your home – one as an entryway doormat and perhaps the other as a kitchen rug.

However, this collection is also complete with other rug styles that capture the essence of Oz, but aren't as on-the-nose – styles that are certainly Wicked-inspired, but have been designed in a more livable manner. Take Elphaba's Lair Emerald Rug, for instance. Despite this rug's deep green color, which is an obvious nod to the Wicked Witch of the West, this rug is surprisingly versatile. It's a livable living room rug idea that can look good in any setting.

Since many of these rugs are bold in their designs, Claudia suggests styling them as the focal point of a room. 'To style these rugs with lasting appeal, let them be the statement piece in a balanced, neutral setting,' they advise. 'Pair the bolder emerald tones with warm woods and creamy neutrals, or the soft blushes with gold and ivory accents for an airy sophistication. Keep the surrounding decor simple and cohesive so the rug’s artistry stands out without overwhelming the space.'

Each rug in this collection was designed to reflect the world of Wicked in one way or another – its characters and their distinct personalities, the land in which the Wicked takes place, and even the themes of the story itself. Aside from filling your home with color and whimsical charm, these rugs are bound to make the rooms in your home feel immensely more characterful.

With some styles that very obviously reflect the Wicked franchise, and others that lean into modern-day rug trends, this Ruggable x Wicked collaboration has something for everyone – diehard Wicked fans who want to decorate their home like Oz, and those who simply appreciate Wicked and love decor that subtly hints at it.

Regardless of the style you choose, all of these rugs are beautiful representations of a well-loved franchise. Trust me, these rugs can change the design of any room, for good.
