The Rugby World Cup is underway, with this year's edition heading to Japan - the first time it has been held in Asia.
2011 winners on home soil and in England four years ago, the always formidable All Blacks will be looking to lift the Webb Ellis Cup for the third tournament in succession.
Hoping to challenge New Zealand's supremacy on the global stage are a host of teams including Eddie Jones' England, who were embarrassed in 2015 and became the first host nation ever to be eliminated at the pool stage.
Wales threw down the gauntlet to their rivals earlier this year by claiming a third Six Nations Grand Slam in 11 years, while Ireland will also fancy their chances despite a disappointing third-place finish in the annual northern hemisphere competition.
South Africa look to be enjoying a real resurgence, while Australia are also returning to prominence and recently thrashed the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship.
The likes of Argentina, France and Scotland will be considered underdogs, with Japan also keen to make an impact on their home World Cup after that famous win over the Springboks four years ago.
