Rugby World Cup 2019 – Georgia vs Uruguay LIVE: Score, stream and latest updates from Pool D fixture

Follow live updates from the Rugby World Cup as Uruguay and Georgia go head to head this morning in Kumagaya.

Fiji were stunned in Pool D on Wednesday when the South Americans achieved the greatest result in their rugby history with a 30-27 victory in Kamaishi.

Georgia, meanwhile, lost their opening game to Wales 43-14 on Monday, but they produced a dogged second-half performance in which they shared 28 points with Warren Gatland's side. Follow the live action below:

That just about does it for our coverage of Georgia's victory over Uruguay, with business in Tokyo imminent.

It's Wales against Australia in a potential Pool D decider, and Samuel Lovett will be your company throughout proceedings at the Tokyo Stadium:

Here is the final Georgian try. Not too often you see a hooker opt to try a deft little chip over the top, but it worked, to some extent, on this occasion. Jaba Bregvadze performed well in the middle of the front row, with a try of his own to mark a proud day as captain.
A few standouts for you, starting with Otari Giorgadze, who was effective at number eight, with 81 metres and four defenders beaten. There's a real chance Georgia start Giorgadze, Gorgodze and Gorgadze in the back row against Fiji - that'll be fun.

And then the young Georgian half-backs - Tedo Abzhandadze and Gela Aprasidze (below) were fantastic, particularly the latter, 42 accurate passes, nine brilliant box-kicks and plenty of threat around the fringes. They put their team in the right areas, and built to a strong and stable win.

A very solid performance from Georgia, wearing Uruguay down and pulling away in the second half. A bonus point win puts them in pole position for third place in the group with a lively contest with Fiji to come on Thursday. That could be some fun.

Another very valiant showing from Uruguay, but it was always going to be tough to back up that shock win over the Fijians with a short turnaround between games. They fatigued in the second half and couldn't truly cope with the Lelos' power, particularly up front.

FULL TIME

FULL TIME: Georgia 33-7 Uruguay

81 minutes

Now the offloads come, each riskier than the last, and the fourth in quick succession falls into Georgian hands.

And fittingly it is Mamuka Gorgodze who has the duties of sending this one to a close. Booted emphatically out, and that's a bonus point victory for Georgia to get their tournament properly underway.
80 minutes

Into the final few seconds. Uruguay play on, desperately hoping for a final flourish of sorts, but struggling to get any degree of go forward with their crab-like attacking movements, side-to-side with a great Georgian wall well organised ahead of them.

Better - Agustin Ormaechea darts from scrum-half to make a couple of yards.
78 minutes

The scrum goes down but there's nothing doing penalty-wise, and when Wayne Barnes instructs Georgia to use it the pass is forward. Uruguay will have the scrum feed.
77 minutes

Georgia opt to scrum.

Uruguay will play the rest of the game with 14, and have to bring German Kessler back into the game to take over from Gattas at hooker.
RED CARD!
RED CARD!

Shoulder-to-head contact, no real attempt to wrap, significant force, no mitigating factors - Wayne Barnes says it is a clear red!

Off Facundo Gattas trots. He can't really have any arguments, and Uruguay don't question the decision. They knew.
Oh dear - a foul play check!

TMO Marius Jonker has picked up a shoulder-to-head contact from Facundo Gattas, and the replacement front row could be in some bother.
76 minutes

Georgia win a penalty in the Uruguay 22 and a quick tap retains the momentum, with Otari Giorgadze again close with a big carry. Soso Matiashvili and Alexander Todua try to use brains rather than brawn to find their way over, intricate footwork not quite working as Uruguay cover the width well.

And then the turnover is won! Manuel Ardao gets over the top as Giorgadze is cut down after another charge, and the number eight is pinged for holding on.
74 minutes

Space everywhere as Georgia work the ball through the hands, and replacement Soso Matiashvili is away, briefly, as Tedo Abzhandadze brings him on an undersea line through a gap, a fingertips tackle bringing Matiashvili down.

Abzhandadze again looks for the cross-kick that so nearly worked earlier, but Nicolas Freitas is alive to the threat on this occasion, and claims the mark.
Livewire scrum-half Gela Aprasidze had a superb game for Georgia.

72 minutes

The game is becoming more and more unstructured, and Giorgi Kveseladze works the ball out to Alexander Todua, who sprints up the left touchline towards the Uruguayan 22.

The covering defence is good, though, and they manage to rake the ball away from Todua and win the turnover, and eventually clear their lines.
70 minutes

Georgia find little joy with the lineout drive but find the forward carries more effective, but Tedo Abzhandadze curiously opts for a little stab along the ground with support waiting with an overlap wide of him on the right. There's no-one to really chase his grubber, either. Uruguay 22 drop-out.
68 minutes

There's a real melee on the left touchline as Gela Aprasidze fumbles, with a proper scrap at the ruck for the loose ball and a proper fight between the tiny Aprasidze and the towering Manuel Leindekar, with Aprasidze more than holding his own, impressively. Wayne Barnes is content to give them both a talking to, nothing more, having to look down at Aprasidze and then to the heavens to admonish Leindekar. Georgia win a penalty from the subsequent scrum, with Aprasidze removed. On comes Vasil Lobzhanidze.

Brilliant showing for Aprasidze, and you'd think he'd be Georgia's nine for the remainder of the tournament, now.
66 minutes

19-year-old hooker Van Karkadze is into the fray and throws his first lineout dart perfectly, hitting double tops to the three jumper. Mamuka Gorgodze beats his first defender with a sizeable surge.

Georgia fumble in midfield, though, and Uruguay will have a scrum.
NO TRY! He's lost it as he tried to place!

Marius Jonker is consulted, and the TMO rules that the Georgian winger has lost control as Uruguay scramble to tackle him. A let off for Uruguay. Smart thinking from Abzhandadze, and Dzneladze should really have scored.
64 minutes

Uruguay lose the ball as they dally after the scrum, and Georgia win a penalty for a high tackle after they win the ball back.

And Tedo Abzhandadze goes quickly! A cross field kick claimed by Dzneladze, and has he scored?
