Rugby's try of the season has probably just been scored in the first match

The rugby season is still weeks away from starting for some, but the action is under way in France and we might have already witnessed the try of the year in the opening match.

The stunning score was finished off by Perpignan lock Shahn Eru, but it started 90 metres further back and saw the ball switch between 11 different pairs of hands.

The handling and offloading skills are something else, with the Beziers defenders helpless to stop the remarkable length-of-the-field score in th 25th minute.

It sent the passionate home supporters wild and helped Perpignan to a 23-13 victory in the French second division.

The Top 14 is also starting this weekend, with Welshman Rhys Webb named in the starting XV to play Agen later on Saturday.
