Australian rugby league authorities are investigating a Melbourne Storm player's involvement in a violent altercation while he was on holiday in Bali.
A video published on social media last night appeared to show Melbourne Storm player Nelson Asofa-Solomona swinging punches during a brawl outside a nightclub.
In a statement, Melbourne Storm said it had reported the incident to the NRL's integrity unit and launched its own investigation.
"Storm takes these type[s] of incidents very seriously and will not be making any further public comment at this time," the statement said.
It was not clear whether anyone was seriously injured or any charges had been laid over the incident.
Asofa-Solomona, 23, plays in the prop position for Melbourne Storm and has been with the club for five seasons.
In 2015, the NRL beefed up the investigative powers of its integrity unit after two players were caught up in an altercation with a security guard in the United States.
The changes gave the unit the power to compel clubs and players to fully cooperate with investigations, including providing phone records.
