A rugby club has apologised after a video of one of its players exposing himself on the team coach was posted online. The image, taken during exuberant post-win celebrations, was put on Instagram as part of the club's story of the day.
Cornish club Truro RFC had beaten Trowbridge in the Regional 2 South Plate Round 1 contest and were clearly in buoyant mood on the journey home on Saturday, reports Cornwall Live. They took a comprehensive 37-12 victory and the mood was high.
After the match, the club posted: "Truro have put in a massive performance in Wiltshire against a young, fast and athletic Trowbridge side who competed well all game. In what’s going to be the longest bus trip of the season so far. As per usual the bus driver has got the beers in the cooler already. Truro progress to the next round."
And, while big celebrations are nothing unusual for victorious rugby players, an image of one of them getting a little overexcited made it into the social media post as the team enjoyed themselves. The rowdy video branded with Truro RFC's logo was later deleted and the club issued an apology. Many people had time to screenshot and save the video first before it was eventually scrapped by the club.
In a statement the club said: "On behalf of Truro Rugby Football Club, we would like to apologise profusely for the inappropriate story that was recently posted on our site and which has now been withdrawn. This is completely inconsistent with the club's values."
