Rudy Gobert and Clint Capela get into Twitter trolling war

Hey, NBA players: It’s the offseason. You’re going to try stuff you might not try in a real game that counts. It’s okay! That’s why it’s called the offseason.

But that’s going to open yourself to trash talk from your opponents.

That’s basically what happened between Houston Rockets center Clint Capela and his Utah Jazz counterpart Rudy Gobert.

Capela is currently playing for Switzerland’s national team as they try to qualify for FIBA EuroBasket, and it looks like he wanted to work on his shooting from deep in a game. It … didn’t go so well.

A lowlight video made the rounds of him missing shots left and right:

Gobert noted it in a tweet:

That’s a reference to this Capela tweet from July:

But then Capela came back with this video of Gobert shooting from beyond the arc — pretty well! — and challenged him to try it in a game:

I can’t wait to see if they go at each other continually about this next season … but also, what if they both start chucking threes in 2019-20?
