'Rude Map of Britain' reveals cheeky locations from Wetwang to Brokenwind

As you are driving home for Christmas, spare a thought for those heading for Nasty, Brokenwind or Wetwang.

They are on a map of UK towns, villages and hamlets with madcap monikers compiled for the festive season.

In England, there is Barton in the Beans in Leicestershire, Jump, Bunny and Great Snoring.

Yorkshire is home to some crackers - such as Crackpot, Giggleswick, Wetwang and Blubberhouses.

Further south, drivers may find themselves passing through Donkey Town, Curry Mallet, Brown Willy, or Loose Bottom.

In Scotland, they include the likes of Brawl, Brokenwind, Lost, and Whiterashes.

Dull is there, and Spunkie.

In Wales, festive travellers will find Mumbles and Plwmp whilst in Ireland, residents of Stranagalwilly are vying for the title of strangest place name in the UK.

A spokesperson for LeaseCar.uk, the online car leasing company which compiled the list, said: “The English language never fails to amaze us, and neither does the imagination and creativity that must have gone into naming these iconic places around Great Britain and Ireland.

“We’re not sure how residents of Nasty and Crapstone convince people they're nice places to live – Bunny in Nottinghamshire sounds much better."
