'Rude' Eamonn Holmes blasted for dismissive swipe at I'm A Celebrity contestant Giovanna Fletcher

Eamonn Holmes has been branded 'rude' by angry This Morning viewers after a VERY dismissive swipe at rumoured I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant Giovanna Fletcher.

After it seems like we've been waiting an eternity for it to start, I'm A Celebrity 2020 is due to get going on Sunday, November 15.

The biggest change this year is a major change in location from the Australian jungle to a castle in North Wales, with Ant and Dec coming to millions of viewers live from Gwrych Castle in Abergele.

The Geordie duo will officially confirm this year's I'm A Celebrity line-up in a Jungle Story special on Sunday night and one of the famous faces heavily tipped to be taking part is Giovanna Fletcher.

Giovanna, wife of McFly star Tom, is a very popular author, influencer and podcast star with a legion of followers but This Morning host Eamonn had clearly never heard of and was very dismissive of her during a chat about the rumoured line-up on Friday's show.

Chatting to guests Gyles Brandreth and India Willoughby, Eamonn said: "AJ Pritichard the dancer from Strictly is in there, Russell Watson and the favourite is someone called...never heard of her...Giovanna Fletcher 4/1...who's she?"

Wife and co-host Ruth Langsford replied: "Yes, yes, she does podcasts and writes books," but Eamonn retorted: "Never heard of her...anyway Gyles."

Gyles was more diplomatic, saying: "It's amazing how many people you and I HAVE heard of this year, it's actually quite a good line-up," but viewers were less than impressed with Eamonn's comments.

Taking to Twitter, one blasted: "Eamonn is so bloody rude!" and, echoing those sentiments, another tweeted: "Why is Eamonn Holmes such a p***k!!"

Another posted: "Very rude of @EamonnHolmes talking about Giovanna like that on @thismorning just now. Sorry to hear that you’re so out of touch Eamonn, maybe try doing your research next time."

Other stars set to go into I'm A Celebrity this year include Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, Olympic champion Mo Farah and Coronation Street legend Beverley Callard.

Former winners include Vicky Pattison, Scarlett Moffatt, Harry Redknapp and last year's Queen of the Jungle Jacqueline Jossa.
