When this is all over, social historians will have a treasure trove of resources to look back on to see how Australia coped with the coronavirus pandemic.
And, surely, they will be glad to know that one Australian institution did not die, the meat raffle. At least, not at The RUC at Turner.
The club conducted its final online meat raffle via its Facebook page last night.
Manager Jeremy Wilcox said they'd "had a blast" but it was time to move on as punters returned to their favourite watering hole.
Mr Wilcox said the online meat raffles had been a simple but very effective way to maintain a sense of community among club members.
"It's been a real success, actually," he said.
"It's been a very good way to engage with our members and it was very interesting to deliver the meat trays to the winners at their home every Friday night.
"Another manager and I were doing the deliveries and to see how happy people were to win something and to be part of something, it was just pure joy."
