Ruby Walsh tips Brighton FC owner's horse Energumene at the Dublin Racing Festival

Ruby Walsh believes the owner of Brighton FC has an excellent chance of celebrating a winner at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Energumene will carry the colours of Tony Bloom in the Grade 1 Patrick Ward & Co. Solicitors Irish Arkle Novice Chase on Saturday.

Two from two over fences so far, the seven-year-old has produced power-packed performances on the racecourse.

Walsh, leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival with 59 winners, rates the manner of his successes at Naas and Gowran Park.

"Energumene has impressed me this season and can win again," the retired rider told Paddy Power's From The Horse's Mouth Podcast.

"I don’t think Energumene has to make the running and I imagine Paul Townend will take a back seat – he won’t have any trouble sitting in behind one or two if he has to.

"We will have a proper set-to at Cheltenham when Energumene takes on Shishkin."

Bloom enjoyed a winner at The Festival in 2018, when Penhill took the Stayers' Hurdle.

Many horses racing at Leopardstown on Saturday and Sunday are trialling for the big meeting – and Walsh expects the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase favourite to oblige.

"Chacun Pour Soi has beaten Min at this trip before and I fancy him to do it again," he said.

"He looks in really good form at home and over 2m he has too many gears for Min.

"He’s a fast horse with a really high cruising speed, and on soft ground he could be an even better horse."
