Ruby Walsh tipped to appear on Dancing With The Stars

Ruby Walsh is tipped to ditch the saddle and waltz his way on to Dancing With The Stars.

The champion jockey is now priced at 4/1 from 10/1 with BoyleSports to appear on the hit RTE show.

The bookies said the 40-year-old has attracted a new burst of support, with racing fans keen to see the 2FM Game On broadcaster on the dancefloor.

Ireland’s record goalscorer Robbie Keane is also being backed to take part in the next series.

The soccer legend might be heading for a dancing career with his odds tumbling to 11/2 from 16/1 last month after it was announced he had not been picked in new manager Stephen Kenny’s backroom team.

Another well-known Irish face that could show some swagger on the dancefloor is Michael “Mattress Mick” Flynn.

He was rumoured to take part in the last series following rumours that he sparked on social media and is just 6/5 to join other celebrities on the show,

His odds were as big as 25/1 in March.

BoyleSports spokeswoman Sarah Kinsella said: “Dancing With The Stars would be a huge change of scenery for champion jockey Ruby Walsh and punters are really starting to get behind the idea.

“The brilliant horseman is now 4/1 from 10/1 to take part, but he is not the only sporting icon that is fancied for the show as Robbie Keane was hammered into 11/2 from 16/1 last month.”
