Ruby Walsh insists that he doesn't miss horse racing even months after retirement

Legendary Irish jockey Ruby Walsh has revealed that he is not itching to return to racing any time soon after a stress-free summer.

The champion rider announced on May 1st this year that he would be finishing up with immediate effect, and he hasn't looked back since.

He wrote in his latest Paddy Power column: “I don’t miss the daily grind of race-riding one bit, not over the summer anyway.

"The long journeys, the late nights - I didn’t miss any of it. I got out at the right time, I’ve no doubt about that.

“I was clear in my mind when I retired that they were no longer  my  rides and that proved it to me. I’ve no regrets.

"I’ve more on now than I ever had, and it will hopefully help to figure out which direction I’m going in next,” he said."

In a glittering career, he rode over 2500 winners including momentous victories including Kauto Star in the 2007 and 2009 Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Walsh was crowned the leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival an incredible 11 years, including four successive years from 2014 to 2017.
