Rubrik on Wednesday said it plans to acquire generative artificial intelligence startup Predibase as it expands further into data management. Rubrik stock has gained about 40% in 2025.
A data storage and security software firm, Rubrik did not disclose financial terms of the Predibase deal. CNBC reported that Rubrik will pay over $100 million for the AI startup, which helps companies use their proprietary data to train and fine-tune AI models.
"Many organizations still face challenges moving beyond the proof-of-concept stage," said Devvret Rishi, Predibase chief executive, in a news release. "Predibase removes the hardest part of that journey and accelerates production-ready AI by giving teams an easy-to-use platform to tune models to their own data and run on an optimized inference stack. This unlocks more accurate results and faster models, all at lower cost."
