Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has recently admitted that he expects his immediate future to be at Molineux, amid reports linking him with a January move to Manchester United.
United are understood to be prioritising the addition of a new central-midfielder in this month's transfer window and Neves, who played a key role in helping Wolves seal a 1-0 win at Old Trafford on Monday evening, is being linked with a move north.
Reports have claimed that Neves is among United's targets and interim manager Ralf Rangnick would like to add him to his armoury, as the experienced German coach aims to beef up his midfield options ahead of the remainder of the season.
Neves, who joined Wolves in 2017 from Portuguese giants FC Porto, has gone from strength-to-strength since arriving in England and has often been linked with England's top clubs.
However, despite constant speculation concerning his future, Neves recently played down the prospect of leaving Wolves anytime soon, insisting he feels "great" in his current situation.
"It's normal in football," Neves told Record last month, addressing the ongoing speculation. "Whenever there's a transfer market there's a lot of talk, but my goal and focus are on Wolverhampton and I'm not going to change that, things have been going really well for me.
"I still have a lot to learn, I have a lot to give here.
"The future will be seen soon, I like to live in the present and I'm happy, I feel great in Wolverhampton and I'll focus here, because if I do things right I'm sure the future will be bright. My goal will always be to give my best and give even more for the club."
Having joined Wolves whilst they were playing in the Championship, Neves has sampled both life both in the second tier and the Premier League in England, vastly helping his experience and development.
But whilst he has admitted that he could see himself seeing out his career on these shores, he is open to the idea of playing elsewhere in the future.
The midfielder continued: "I could easily see myself having the rest of my career here, it’s a spectacular championship.
"Only those who pass through here know how good it is to participate in the Premier League, how much we grow with each game and each training session, the environment in stadiums, the way football is lived, the way fans respect the players… It’s another level and, honestly, I see myself doing my entire career here.
"But in football, the future is very uncertain and we don’t know what will happen. Obviously, I'm curious to see other championships, but I definitely like being here."
