Ruben Loftus-Cheek makes big demand from his Chelsea team mates after defeat to Liverpool

Ruben Loftus-cheek has demanded that his Chelsea team mates put their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool behind them and get back to their assault on the top four.

The Blues were brushed aside somewhat at Anfield as Sadio Mane and Mo Salah put the Reds back on top of the Premier League with goals against Maurizio Sarri's side.

It was a first defeat in five games and the first time someone had scored against Chelsea in four games - a period of games that had seen the side go as high as third in the Premier League table.

Chelsea talking points: Another shocking Higuain performance & Hudson-Odoi's quiet afternoon

That is the aim for Sarri.

He wants to bring Champions League football back to Stamford Bridge next season and to do so they will either need to finish in the top four or win the Europa League, but they'll have to put their humbling at Anfield behind them if they're to do so.

Loftus-Cheek has been in great form for Chelsea and looks to have cemented his place as Sarri's third midfielder in the central trio, and he's demanded that his team mates put this loss behind them as they prepare for the Premier League run-in.

Speaking to Chelsea's official website, Loftus-Cheek said: "When you lose you have to move on quickly because there are games coming thick and fast. That’s a trait as a footballer you have to be good at. You have to put stuff behind you and move on, and that’s what we have to do after this performance.

"It’s not a good result for us but all we can do is put it behind us and learn from it. We keep going and going, and try and get points on the board. We can’t give up hope."
