Ruben Dias highlights Man City's 'worst enemy' as they look to regain Premier League crown

Ruben Dias says that Manchester City's worst enemy is themselves as they look to regain the Premier League title.

Man City lost ground to a historic Liverpool campaign last season, but they have returned to peak condition this season and are in the process of romping their way to their third title in four years.

City moved 13 points clear at the top of the table with a win over West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime, with Dias and his centre-back partner John Stones getting on the scoresheet.

City are the strong favourites to now win the league title, and Dias says that their "worst enemy" between now and the end of the campaign is themselves.

"We will just continue on the same track which is one game at a time," he told the official club website when asked about City's title credentials.

"Now, we are looking forward to the next one and nothing else.

"The worst enemy we can have is ourselves, we have just got to keep the right mentality and keep going."

On the West Ham win and the goals from himself and Stones, Dias added: "I cannot explain [my goal] and I can only think about how all of the team is made like this.

"One time it is the striker, the next time it is the winger, the next time it is the midfielder and sometimes it needs to be the centre backs or full-backs and that is what makes the team.

"It also speaks about our desire to win as everyone is involved."

Dias also spoke glowingly of City's defensive mindset, something that has undoubtedly improved from last season.

"Our defence works the same way every game: a desire to win, a desire to not concede, a desire to make the opponents feel like it is very tough to get to our goal," he said.

"These things happen with the right mentality."
