Ruben Amorim open to Manchester United outcast reintegration if transfer demands not met

Ruben Amorim has said that there is a potential way back for outcast players at Manchester United.

The Portuguese head coach, who left Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia out of the club’s pre-season squad to the United States, appears to be open to the idea of reintegration of those out in the cold.

However, that hinges upon whether United can get suitable prices for their four wantaway stars, who were given time this summer to find new destinations.

As such, the quartet, along with new Barcelona loanee Marcus Rashford, were told that they did not need to report to Carrington with the rest of the first-team squad for pre-season training.

Rashford did, while the other four were nowhere to be seen.

Speaking at his press conference in Chicago ahead of United’s friendly against West Ham on Sunday, Amorim said that there could potentially be a way back for the players.

"If we reach a point that they have to join the team, they will join the team, because they are our players,” Amorim said.

“I know for a fact that Omar [Berrada] and Jason [Wilcox] have a number for these players, if [clubs] don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players. I am ready to receive the players. I have more options and if they have to fight each other to play, that is perfect. No doubts about that."

The former Sporting manager spoke of his contentment at his new arrivals - Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford - but emphasised that he needs more before the new campaign commences.

“Really pleased,” Amorim said of the pair.

“It’s really important to sign new players as soon as possible. They proved [themselves] already in the Premier League, that is really important. The best thing is they chose to be here, they had Champions League options.”
