Rubbish left on the harbourside again as council workers clear up mess left behind

Pictures from around the Amphitheatre area of Bristol show council workers cleaning up rubbish left behind again in what has been a hot and sunny week here in the city.

Rubbish vans and workers could be seen cleaning up the rubbish left behind at 7am this morning (Friday, June 26).

This all comes after a week where the harbourside area has seen anti-social behaviour, littering and people defecating out in the open.

Parts of the area around the harbourside have been fenced off , in a crackdown on anti-social behaviour.

The action comes after repeated complaints from residents living in the Hannover Quay, Porto Quay and the Millennium Promenade area of the harbourside, about large numbers of people gathering in groups, drinking, urinating and defecating.

Bristol City Council have been proactive in cleaning up the rubbish from the Amphitheatre area of the Harbourside this morning.

A council spokesperson said: "Following a large number of complaints received about anti-social behaviour, part of Harbourside at Hannover Quay was fenced off yesterday, and additional fencing will be installed from today," a council spokesperson said on Wednesday.

"The fencing will be in place for the foreseeable future and reviewed regularly," he said.
