Rubbish from a KFC in Swansea was still littering the surrounding area a week after customers were asked to bin their waste responsibly.
The KFC drive-thru in Morfa Shopping Park was one of the first outlets of the fast food chain to reopen in Wales, on May 5.
At the time, there were long queues stretching past the nearby Liberty Stadium as customers flocked to get a taste of their favourite fried chicken product after six weeks in lockdown.
Since reopening some of its stores, there has been an increase in reports of KFC packaging littering the areas around their restaurants in the UK and Ireland - leading the company to release a statement about the complaints on its twitter page on May 21.
It said: "Let’s all do our bit; by which I mean doing the bare minimum and using a bin or holding onto your rubbish until you find one.
"Fried chicken fans, we've missed you. A lot. And we know you've missed us too. We saw those homemade attempts and they really made us smile.
"But something that doesn't make us smile is people spoiling our communities and wrecking the environment. Yup, litter. So that's why we're asking you, with love, not to be a tosser."
The law on littering:
It went on to say that team members were doing regular littler picks around their restaurants but that: "With great chicken comes great responsibility. Let's all do our bit."
However, pictures taken over the May bank holiday weekend, between May 23-25, revealed a continuing issue with litter from the KFC restaurant at Morfa Shopping Park and the surrounding cycle paths that run along the River Tawe.
Captured by a local resident, they showed cardboard boxes, drink cartons, napkins and other rubbish with KFC branding in hedges and grass verges.
Rubbish was also found in woodland not far from the restaurant and spotted in the front gardens of nearby flats.
The restaurant is only open for drive-thru and takeaways but it appears that people are eating their food in the car park and not disposing of their litter properly.
Some of the litter had been cleared up today, while some remained.
A spokeswoman for KFC referred customers to the company's litter policy, as mentioned above.
