Rubbish collections will take place one day late in Swansea this week as delays caused by the hazardous weather is forcing recycling crews to play catch up.

Due to icy conditions across the city, Swansea Council has had to halt recycling and waste collections for today, Monday, January 25.

It means that those who were due to have their rubbish collected today will have it collected tomorrow, and all other collections this week will subsequently be one day late as a catch up on collections takes place.

Here is an at a glance guide of what it means for you.

If your usual collection day is Monday, collection will be Tuesday.

If your usual day is Tuesday, collection will be Wednesday.

If your usual day is Wednesday, collection will be Thursday.

If your usual day is Thursday, collection will be Friday.

And if your usual collection day is Friday, your rubbish will be collected on Saturday.

Swansea Council posted the following announcement on Facebook: "Due to icy conditions remaining across large parts of Swansea there will be no recycling and waste collections today, Monday, January 25.

"Today’s collection will take tomorrow Tuesday, January 26, and all other collections this week will be one day late as the crews catch up.

"Please share this post and inform family and friends for their information.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused and many thanks for your understanding."
