Rubbish bins not collected by Perth and Kinross Council in Alyth

Some residents living in Alyth have not had their bins collected.

A number of residents in the eastern Perthshire village were due to have their kerbside bins collected by Perth and Kinross Council today (Monday, February 17).

However, due to “operational issues” the route was not completed.

Residents are now being told to leave their bin out on the kerbside for another 48 hours.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: “Due to operational issues today’s bin collections in Alyth will not be completed, however pleased leave any missed ins out for the next 48 hours as arrangements are being made to return within this time to complete the collection route.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Kerbside bin collections were also missed in Alyth earlier this month on Monday, February 3.

This comes after Alyth was badly hit by flooding during Storm Dennis over the weekend.
