RTE viewers watch as Taoiseach Micheal Martin sits down for 'ruff' interview on Home School hub

As the head of Ireland's government Taosieach Micheal Martin is no stranger to interviews.

The Fianna Fail leader is often on the airwaves speaking to various journalists as he often grilled about running the country and his leadership.

However Mr Martin sat down for one of his most interesting interviews yet yesterday as he was quizzed by Seamus the puppet dog on RTE's Home School hub.

The Taoiseach shared a clip from the interview online dubbing it a 'ruff but fair' chat with the friendly puppet.

Mr Martin started the chat by thanking school children across the country as well as teachers for their hard work throughout the pandemic.

However he is quickly interrupted by Seamus the puppet dog

When asked by an excited Seamus 'Who are you?' the Taoiseach gave a rather unexpected response saying "'I don't know I'm still trying to find out.

“They say I’m Micheal Martin, I’m Taoiseach and in charge of the government."

The Taoiseach goes on to talk about his own dog Setanta who he claims might be jealous that he's talking to another pup.

"I've a dog watching now and he's going to be very jealous."

But Seamus was quick to quip back that the Taoiseach's bichon frise doesn't sound very scary.

Martin also said that it was "absolutely" true that politicians are great fun when they get together for a 'party'.

The Taoiseach's message comes as all primary schools are set to return on Monday.
