RTE viewers slam Mrs Brown's Boys Live Halloween Special

RTE viewers were not thrilled by the Mrs Brown's Boys Live Halloween Special - with one declaring he would have laughed more if the telly was off.

Dublin matriarch Agnes Brown was joined by classic characters Cathy, Winnie, Buster, Grandad, Dermot and more for the episode which was broadcast live on BBC One and RTE One.

The episode, which was filmed live in front of a studio audience in Scotland, saw Agnes getting haunted by her dead husband Redser Brown. The problem was, that no-one else could see him except her.

Despite best efforts from the cast, the punchlines fell flat with many of those tuned in.

One viewer said: "So I just watched Mrs Brown's Boys Live, and oh my god what a load of s**t. I'd have laughed more if I'd had the TV off."

Another viewer said: "How the Hell does Mrs Brown's Boys still get Airtime."

A third said: "Can anyone explain to me how/why Mrs. Brown's Boys is still on prime time TV?"

A fourth said: "Mrs Brown's Boys. We will never get that 30 minutes back."

However, there were others that did enjoy the show.

One fan wrote: "Mrs Brown's Boys Live tonight was brilliant. 10 years on TV. What an episode, what an achievement!"

A second wrote: "I do love Mrs Brown's Boys... it when out live tonight in Ireland, America and the UK...very funny. I love this show. Congrats on the 10 years anniversary."
