RTE viewers have hailed First Dates contestant Cillian after he opened up on his struggles with alcohol abuse on Thursday night's episode.
The drummer and former model from Mayo met with 30-year-old Dutch folk musician Janneke from Dublin on the popular show.
Fans turned to Twitter to praise the 31-year-old after he spoke about his previous struggles with alcoholism.
One person said: "Killian is beautiful on the inside & out. Fair play to him for speaking about his substance abuse It's not an easy topic to discuss & 10 times harder on TV. #firstdatesirl"
Another person added: "Fun fact: I fancied Cillian SO much when I was a teenager (and he’s a really really nice fella)
"Update: turns out I still fancy Cillian. I am so f*****g proud of him for being so honest about the struggles he has had in life."
A third person said: "Honestly I'd rather just watch Cillian's date than the other two. He's far more interesting!
Another Twitter user said: "Fair play to Cillian! Amazing stuff!"
One more person said: "Fair dues to Cillian turning his life around. Great to see."
The duo had plenty to talk about thanks to their love of music and meditation but ended up deciding to be friends.
