RTE viewers all saying the same thing about Tommy Tiernan Show after moving episode

Viewers were all saying the same thing after a moving episode of the Tommy Tiernan Show on RTE last night.

The comedian had a fascinating line-up of guests, including Ireland rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll.

The Leinster great was first up as Tiernan put BOD on the spot in a revealing interview.

The pair shared some heartfelt moments and plenty of laughs as O'Driscoll opened up on everything from his rise to stardom on the rugby pitch to his fears as a parent.

And after an enthralling chat with O'Driscoll, Tiernan's second guest of the evening was the acclaimed actor Stephen Rea.

Having starred in the likes of Michael Collins, The Crying Game and V For Vendetta, viewers are quite familiar with the on-screen work of the man from Belfast.

However, during his chat with Tiernan, Rea elaborated on his marriage to Dolours Price and ultimately, her battles with alcoholism.

"Nobody gets better until the addict leaves the house," he said in a powerful moment of honesty.

Aside from this, Rea also discussed his career, the need to leave Ireland, dealing with loss, the likelihood of a United Ireland, and the benefits of having more time at home due to lockdown.

And the moving episode provoked a huge reaction on social media, with viewers praising Tiernan's "refreshing and unusual" interviewing style.

While musician Niall Breslin said the show demonstrated that "society is moving in right direction when it comes to the narrative around emotional well-being".
