RTE viewers all say the same thing about irony of watching Ireland's Fittest Family amid return

Ireland’s Fittest Family returned to tv screens tonight to kick off season ten in the much-loved series.

Fans of the show were treated to some new challenges as well as a new coach as jockey Nina Carberry joined the show.

The first episode of the season saw Anna Geary's Fitzsimons from County Wicklow, Donncha O'Callaghan's Gallaghers from County Laois, Nina Carberry's Finnegans from County Meath, and Davy Fitzgerald's Dorans from County Wexford battle it out to get top of the leaderboard.

They faced a challenge which saw one member of the family test themselves to see how long they could hold on to hoops suspended up in the air while their family members collected rings, - the group who collected the most rings before their family member dropped won.

Aaron Fitzsimon, 14, hung from the hoops while his family collected the rings.

Viewers were impressed as the young boy managed to last over a minute on the hoops, with his family earning a score of 11.

"Ah the little face on him," wrote one viewer.

"Great display by the 14 year old lad," wrote another.

Another praised: "Really enjoy this show, 14 year old bossing it!"

In another challenge, the families had to make their way across a lake in a raft.

"The young lad just fell off the pontoon like he’d been shot by a sniper," joked one viewer.

"Me Judging every slip & fall made while sitting on me couch eating chocolate !" wrote another.

"I love critically commenting on the performances while devouring a curry chip and can of Coke," laughed another.
