RTE viewers all question the huge show missing from All-Ireland final weekend

RTE viewers were disappointed to see no "Up for the Match" for the second year in a row ahead of the All-Ireland Hurling Final on Sunday.

Traditionally, Des Cahill and Grainne Seoige would be joined by an array of former players, managers and an audience of fans to discuss the upcoming final.

The show couldn't go ahead for last year's final due to Covid-19 and this year's show suffered the same fate, to the disappointment of many.

Oisin Langan tweeted: "What are us culchies supposed to do on the Saturday night before the final if there's no Up for the Match?"

Another said: "Why isn’t there an Up For The Match on tonight? Surely it could be done in accordance with Covid regulations."

One more tweeted: "f there’s no Up for the Match on RTE can the All Ireland Final even exist?"

Not everyone was disappointed however with one social media user labelling it the one of the "positive" impacts of the pandemic.

In the game itself, Limerick are aiming to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup for a second consecutive year, while Cork were last crowned champions in 2005.
