RTE have struck a goldmine with The Tommy Tiernan Show, as the comedian's laid-back hosting style and interesting guests have seen it become a ratings hit.
The nature of the show, which sees Tiernan completely unprepared and uninformed of who he'll be speaking to, fascinates viewers each and every week.
But the episodes on Easter Saturday saw one particular guest catch the eye of a viewer and for a major reason.
Patrick M Barrett was sitting at home when Dr Ciaran Bolger made his way onto the screen.
Ciarán gave Tommy a little bit of background to his job, saying he was a "failed astronaut, but a successful neurosurgeon".
Professor Bolger then told Tommy about how someone actually operates on the brain, saying it can be as simple as drilling a small hole to place an electrode in to stimulate one part of the brain.
And Barrett then realised he had found that out first hand.
He tweeted upon realising: "2001 , 4am in the morning , Beaumont hospital , after a Brain aneurysm , Dr Ciaran Bolger operated on me . Saved my life that man . Fact."
He added: "The maddest of days , of times . I've not seen the man , or had to see him, thank god , in 15 years . I got really emotional watching him being interviewed last night . Very humbling. I just went right back to the ward to the ceilings of the corridors when he walked out on the TV tonight."
A number of people responded in awe, with Barrett saying he was "utterly flabbergasted" upon seeing Professor Bolger in the chair.
