Vicky Phelan has thanked Late Late Toy Show hero Adam King for writing her a personal hand-written letter while she was undergoing treatment.
The cervical cancer campaigner is currently in Maryland as she is taking part in a clinical trial for a new drug in a bid to prolong her life.
Yesterday, she was given the all-clear to return home to visit her children.
And speaking to her 72k Instagram followers this morning, Vicky explained she was going through her mail from well wishers and wanted to thank a “very, very important person”.
That person was Late Late Toy Show hero Adam King - who had sent at least four of the 'virtual hug' cards to her.
One, signed by the man himself stopped her in her tracks.
“Thank you Adam,” Vicky wrote.
“I was very, very lucky to receive a personalised 'A Hug for You' card from the man himself, Adam King @adventures_wad , the star of the @latelaterte Toy Show”.
“THANK YOU Adam for your beautiful card and for thinking of me. I was so delighted to get a card from you “.
“I hope that you are feeling better after your recent stint in hospital. I am sending you my very best wishes for a speedy recovery from the USA”.
And the @adventure_wad account, run by Adam's family, responded in the comments, saying:
"You're so welcome @vickykellyphelan! Delighted the card arrived safely. Thanks so much for the good wishes you sent Adam too, really appreciate it. Wishing you continued success with your treatment and sending you the biggest virtual hugs from home."
Phelan headed to the US in January for what her friends and family thought would be a six month stint while the mum of two received an experimental drug to prolong her life.
And her doctors informed her yesterday of the news that she would be allowed a home-visit.
Phelan said:
"He told me that he will definitely get me home for at least a month in the summer to see my kids. The relief is just huge. I really, really needed to hear that today. It's been hard talking to them and not knowing when I will be able to see them.
"I have been struggling over the past 2-3 weeks because I could not see an end in sight or countdown to a specific date in the future when I would see my kids again. At least now I know that I will be heading home sometime in July which is only 9 weeks away. I can DO that."
