Viewers were left "roaring laughing" during Tommy Tiernan's interview with The 2 Johnnies tonight.
Earlier this week RTE announced that the Tommy Tiernan Show, which has proven wildly popular in lockdown, has had its second series extended for an additional six weeks.
Though the chat show had been initially pegged to wrap up next Saturday, on 6 March, the national broadcaster remarked that the show has proven to be a hit with Irish audiences, who are particularly drawn to the wide variety of guests and the deep and often heavier topics they cover while on the show.
Tiernan’s ability to put guests at ease and coax out personal stories and admission has garnered particularly high praise from audiences, and made for some extremely touching and memorable interviews.
And tonight was no exception as the comedian was joined by the comic duo and podcasters The 2 Johnnies.
The pair described themselves as "craic merchants" in a wide-ranging chat, including mistaking Tommy for a member of the "Bebo generation".
They also discussed the North Tipp-South Tipp divide, as well as winning the X Factor.
And the interview provoked a huge reaction on social media, with viewers admitting they were "roaring laughing".
One fan said the duo and Tommy were the "perfect combo", while another added that the popular pair were "instant laughter".
