RTE to broadcast Shamrock Rovers v AC Milan Europa League clash live

RTE have announced that they'll show Shamrock Rovers' blockbuster Europa League qualifier against AC Milan live.

The Hoops welcome the Italian giants to Tallaght Stadium next Thursday, September 17, but there's heartbreak for fans as Covid-19 restrictions mean it'll be behind closed doors.

Normally a huge financial windfall for a League of Ireland club, the European glamour tie won't see Shamrock Rovers reap the same financial rewards they normally would for such a tie.

They progressed to the Europa League second qualifying round with 12-11 penalties win over Ilves Tampere.

But fans missing out on attending can rest easy, with RTE announcing that they'll broadcast the clash on RTE 2 and the RTE Player.

With kick-off at 7 pm, RTE will kick off their coverage at 6.30 pm with Peter Collins presenting and Kenny Cunningham and George Hamilton on commentary.

Stephen Bradley's men are closing in on a first Airtricity League title, they lead Dublin rivals Bohemians by five points and enjoy a 12-point buffer over defending champions Dundalk.
