RTE star Ryan Tubridy left in stitches by woman's bizarre 'public toilet' craving

Ryan Tubridy was left in stitches by a Twitter user's bizarre "public toilet craving".

The RTE host was reminiscing on pre-Covid times with listeners on RTE Radio One as he yearned for the simple pleasures of old.

Ireland is currently in the grips of a strict coronavirus lockdown, with non-essential shops shut and journeys banned.

And while some of the lockdown "cravings" are somewhat mundane, one in particular sent Ryan over the edge.

He told his morning radio show: "Karen sent a tweet to say that she wants to go to Liffey Valley, buy sh**e in Penneys and Boots, have a fairly mediocre lunch and then round it all off with stale popcorn in the cinema.

"It's a pretty terrible, wildly expensive afternoon, but is a pretty terrible, wildly expensive afternoon too much to ask for?"

Tubs continued: "I think we'd all join you on that trip Karen if it's possible.

"And some responses to her tweet; 'I never thought I'd miss Liffey Valley but I do I miss sitting in Costa watching that stupid train going past and looking for familiar faces in the crowd.'

"Another says: 'I want to sit down somewhere warm and dry after I buy a cappuccino and use a public toilet when the urge takes me on my walks'."

The mere suggestion left the Late Late Show host in stitches, as he added: "This is what we're now craving? We're in a bad place now.

"Another said: 'I'd love a day in Liffey Valley, Penneys, Tiger, H&M, I'd even bring the kids to that pirate's cove place.'

"Ooh it's terrible."
