Ryan Tubridy was delighted to see 'good egg' Shane Lowry make Padraig Harrington's Ryder Cup team.
The Offaly man was named as one of Harrington's three wild card picks on Sunday alongside Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter as Justin Rose missed out.
Speaking on RTE Radio 1 show on Monday, Tubridy said: "Shane Lowry has been given the nod for the Ryder Cup team.
"What I love about Shane Lowry is that Shane, if you have ever met him, is one of those guys who just enjoys it.
"He enjoys playing golf, enjoys what goes with it, a good egg.
"He's a pleasure to meet. He likes a few beers, hasn't lost the plot, and is still very talented at what he does.
"I'm a fan of his. I like his style very much so."

Lowry expressed his delight at being named in the team.
“It’s been a career-long dream to play in the Ryder Cup,” he said. “I remember when the points race started here, I said it was my number one goal and it has been for the last two years.
“I’m just incredibly proud of what I have achieved. But there’s no point going over there to make up the numbers. I want to win points and help bring the cup back.”
