Ireland's Fittest Family presenter Mairead Ronan has said that some of her family members have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Today FM star revealed that her husband and two of their kids, Eliza and Bonnie, tested positive for the virus while she and her eldest son, Dara, have both tested negative.
Ronan has been off the airwaves all week as she helps her family recover from the illness.
During an interview with The Irish Independent, Ronan said: "I have been tested three times and I am completely negative.
“I clearly have some sort of immunity to it because I haven’t got it despite the fact that I was in the same bed as Louis. He was breathing all over me, I didn’t get it and I still don’t have it.
“That’s three in the house who got it and myself and my 13-year-old son, Dara, both tested negative.
"We have been so careful all year but it’s just everywhere. We were just unlucky and picked it up in the community."
The TV star noted that all of her family adhered to the correct social distancing guidelines and healthcare procedures over the Christmas season, but they were just unfortunate to see a positive test emerge.
She said: "We were very unlucky and we had been so careful. At Christmas, we just had my family. At the moment, we are completely trapped in the house and we can’t even take our dog, Murphy, for a walk."
The presenter has been tested three times and the results were negative every time.
The RTE star noted that her husband has been tired and her daughter Eliza was worst affected by the virus.
