RTE star Joe Duffy targeted by anti-vaccine protestors outside his home as Gardai called

Joe Duffy has become the latest person to have his home targeted by anti-vaccine protestors.

A group gathered around the RTE broadcaster's house in Clontarf on Tuesday afternoon.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed to DublinLive that officers responded to reports of a small group of people staging a protest outside a private residence in Clontarf, Co Dublin, at around 4pm.

The spokesperson added: "It’s understood the group involved had dispersed without incident prior to the arrival of gardaí.”

This is the latest incident in a series of protests outside the homes of high-profile figures and politicians.

At the start of the month, a similar protest was held outside the home of Dr Tony Holohan.

Gardaí attended the scene in Terenure, Dublin 6, when a small group of people demonstrated outside the Chief Medical Officer's house.

The demonstration outside Duffy's home comes weeks after a protest was also held at the home of the Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and his partner Dr Matt Barrett in Dublin 8.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has also been targeted, with a security fence having to be erected around his home following protests.
