RTE star Claire Byrne enjoys Kerry staycation with husband Gerry and three kids

RTE star Claire Byrne is enjoying time away from the studio as staycations in Kerry with her family.

The mum-of-three took time off from being a fan-favourite radio and TV presenter to spend time with husband Gerry and three children - Patrick, Jane and Emma.

Former Kerry GAA star and director of Rosspoint Restaurant in Glenbeigh, Darran O’Sullivan, shared a photo with the star when she visited the beachview restaurant.

"Delighted to welcome @ClaireByrneLive and her family to @rosspoint_1 today," he said.

Darran has welcomed a host of famous faces to the Rosspoint restaurant lately including fashion designer and former Kerry GAA star Paul Galvin and Mayo GAA star Aidan O'Shea.

The make-up free mum looked relaxed and cosy in her staycation outfit as she enjoyed her day out.

Paul Byrne, the Southern Correspondent for Virgin Media News, joked: "Hi @Darransull86, please keep a close eye on @ClaireByrneLive. She has a terrible habit of slipping cutlery, pillows & towels into her suitcase."

Claire has previously said that she and her family “fell in love” with spending holidays outdoors.

“Gerry and I realised that children don’t care whether you go on a plane or not, they care about going on holidays with their parents.

"We will be doing a lot more of that because it is easier and cheaper."

As Claire enjoys time away from the studio, news reporter, television, and radio presenter Philip Boucher-Hayes is sitting in for the star.
