RTE star admits 'I'll probably get abuse' after honest lockdown story

RTE star Doireann Garrihy has opened up to followers about her lockdown struggles in an honest Instagram story post.

The RTE 2FM presenter said that "you're allowed to mourn the little things" and admitted she "wants a normal life".

Lying down on her bed, she said she felt "lucky" not to be a front line worker but wanted to be soon "able to make plans".

She said: "In all seriousness, I just reached a point yesterday, because you know the way you kind of hold yourself back a little bit from giving out or complaining because you're like, 'I'm not working on the front line, I am so lucky in so many ways,' but you're still allowed to mourn the little things, I think.

"I will probably get abused by someone but I actually don't care.

"Like abuse me all you want, I just want normal life, I just want to be able to make plans, I want to have things to look forward to.

"It's the not knowing."

She continued saying: "I'm not trying to drag people down.

"If you're having a good day get away from my stories. I just want you to know that if you feel like that, I feel like that."
