RTE's Up for the Match blasted over 'disgraceful' decision

Up for the Match has become part and parcel of All-Ireland final weekends.

The popular RTE show returned this year for the first time since 2019 after being cancelled for the past two years due to Covid-19.

Saturday's show saw features with Kerry and Galway fans ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland Senior Football Championship final at Croke Park.

But viewers in the north of Ireland were left frustrated because they could not enter the competition to win two tickets for the final.

One person tweeted: "Brilliant up for the match show, it would be good if the Gaa fans in north of Ireland could enter the competition."

Another said: "Why are us from North of Ireland not included in the competition on Up For The Match I think it's disgraceful."

Someone else commented: "Why is the competition on tonight's "Up for the match" NOT available for the north of Ireland counties to enter? That's an absolute disgrace."
