The Tommy Tiernan Show has closed an application form for audience members in just 16 minutes following an "overwhelming response".
The RTE programme put out a callout for applications to be in the audience for the next show on Facebook today.
Tommy Tiernan's official page posted on the social media site, providing a link to the form, saying: "Fancy being in the audience for the next recording of The Tommy Tiernan Show at RTE in February?
"Fill out this form and you could get tickets. Please note seats are limited and we will only be taking applications for a limited time today!"
But after just 16 minutes, the page deleted the previous post and said: "Thanks folks we have had an overwhelming response to the tv audience call out so are closing applications for now."
Fans were disappointed that they couldn't complete their applications.
Monica Flynn said: "I had just finished my application and it told me it was closed...Raging I didn't get in."
Carmel Lunt added: "Just finished filling out the form and it closed."
Lisa Greene posted: "And of course I missed it! Raging."
Pol O Ruairc wrote: "That was mighty fast!"
And Christopher Flanagan added: "Popular man Mr Tommy Tiernan."
The popular Donegal-born comedian's show sees him interview a special guest every week - without knowing who it is before they walk out on stage.
The twist has led to some of the best Irish chat telly in recent years.
The Tommy Tiernan Show airs on RTE One at 9.55pm on Saturdays.
